How to choose a x ray grid

The function of the x ray grid is to eliminate scattered rays and make the image clearer. When we use the X-ray machine for film examination, the x ray grid should be used when the thickness of the photographed body is greater than 10cm. So what factors should be paid attention to when choosing the x ray grid?
Firstly, it is necessary to determine the size of the x ray grid: the common x ray grid size is 15*18 feet and 18*18 feet, corresponding to 14*17 feet and 17*17 feet of flat panel detector respectively, and the film cassette or THE IP board of CR can be selected.
Secondly, the grid ratio of the x ray grid shall be determined: the grid ratio of the x ray grid shall be selected according to the high and low voltage of the tube. When the bulb tube voltage is higher than 90KV, the x ray grid with a grid ratio of 10:1 and above shall be selected; when the  voltage of the bulb tube is lower than 90KV, the x ray grid with a grid ratio of less than 8:1 shall be selected.
