The x-ray grid is a flat plate with a thickness of 4-8 mm. The internal structure is composed of many thin lead bars arranged intersectionally. The two lead bars are filled with a substance that can be easily penetrated by X-ray and bonded together. Fillers can be wood, paper or aluminium sheets and other materials that can penetrate X-rays. Finally, the upper and lower parts are encapsulated with thin aluminium sheets to form x-ray grids. From the cross-section, the direction of the filter plate lead will converge to a point. From the whole grid, there is a convergence line.
Generally, the x-ray grid should be placed between the detected body and the imaging receiving device, so as to filter out the scattered rays, so as not to affect the imaging.
