Several common specifications of wire grids

JPI grids are not new to many hospital dealers. Grids are mainly used in chest X-ray frames, flat beds for photography and other medical X-ray machines, but many people do not know that different models need to customize grids of different sizes, but what is a grid? What is the function of the grid? What are the advantages?

First, let’s talk about an overview of grids. The application of high-purity lead in the grid provides a highly effective anti-scattering effect. Then there’s the precise combination of aluminum base and aluminum strip, which makes for a high-quality image. Last but not least, a smooth aluminum cover wraps and glazes the lead grid to protect the grid from heat and dust and to avoid years of maintenance. The above three points are an overview of the grid.

What are the advantages of grids? There are four advantages:

(1) Variable size

From standard 5″ x 7″ to 14″ x 51″, special size can also be customized according to customer requirements. The size of the grid is one inch larger than the corresponding film size. A more commonly used size is 15″ x 18″.

(2) Variable grid ratio

From 3:1 to 15:1, the grid ratio is the ratio of the height of the leader grid to the width of the gap. More commonly used grid ratios are 8:1, 10:1 and 12:1.

(3) Focus range

From standard short focal lengths (26″-32″), focal lengths (34″-44″) and long focal lengths (40″-72″, 48″-72″ 60″-72″) to infinity (parallel lines). The focal lengths usually used in medical applications are mainly 100cm, 130cm and 180cm.

(4) High mesh density

From 60 or 70 Threads/Excellent, to High Density (85 Threads/inch), Ultra High Density (103 Threads/inch), Invisible Threads (105 Threads/inch), Ultra Invisible Threads (170 or 200 Threads/inch) . Mesh densities commonly used in medical applications are 85 lines/inch and 103 lines/inch.
