The difference between grid, filter plate and wire shutter

You may often hear about filter plates, shields, and grids. They are all used in X-ray filming to shield or filter scattered rays and reduce radiation damage to the human body. So what is the difference between them? Get up and take a look.

Grid: The grid is used to filter out the scattered rays generated by the human body during photography. The function is similar to the previous filter plate, except that it is not uniformly filtered, and it is not the filtering of the original emission line, but the filtering of the rays after passing through the human body.
Filter plate: It can selectively absorb a large number of low-energy photons in the original emission line. Combined with the nature of X-rays, the filter plate filters out the low-energy photons in the original emission line, leaving high-energy photons.
Shutter: Also called beam limiter, it controls the X-ray to display the appropriate irradiation field. It is installed in the window of the X-ray tube assembly to shield unnecessary original emission lines and minimize the patient’s irradiated area.
Our company is a manufacturer specializing in the production of grids. If you want to buy the most suitable grid for you, please contact us.
