What is the tube voltage compensation of the grid?

The lead foil strip, the main component of the X ray grid, reduces the film’s sensitivity, and the tube voltage makes up for this shortcoming of the X ray grid.

The internal structure of the X ray grid is formed by the intersection of many thin lead strips.
Since the main component of the X ray grid is a lead foil strip, it blocks the scattered rays and inevitably blocks a part of the original emission line, which reduces the sensitivity of the film to some extent, so it is less necessary to use X ray grid when shooting. To properly increase the exposure conditions, increase the tube voltage to increase the X-ray penetration ability to achieve the purpose of compensation. The specific compensation data should be combined with clinical use. Under normal circumstances, the low grid ratio grid is suitable for low kV tube voltage; the high grid ratio is suitable for high kV tube voltage.
